Our electricians serve a five-year apprenticeship accredited by the Department of Labor, which requires a minimum of 1,000 hours of classroom instruction and over 8,000 hours of hands-on training.
Power Source 309 electricians are trained through the Southwestern Illinois Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. This program offers three training courses: Inside Wireman, Residential Wireman and Telecommunications Technician. In these programs our apprentices receive the latest training in construction advancements, technology and safety. Inside Wireman Training The JATC is currently accepting applications for the Inside Wireman Apprenticeship Program. This apprenticeship program teaches the Inside Wireman apprentices to install and connect the customer’s electrical equipment to the power source as well as installing and maintaining the various types of electrical systems found in commercial and industrial facilities. This work includes installing complete electrical systems in multi-story buildings. This training requires that all electrical work be installed to meet safety and required standards in a neat and professional manner. |
